HUSKER JAKE PRODUCTIONS

What is a "Husker Jake" production?

These are silent "coach's film" that I have added radio audio to.

Unless it's for something extremely rare, I will not trade my radio/film projects. It seems they are ending up for sale on online auction sites. These productions are a 'labor of love' for me, but they take up to 20 hours of computer time to assemble to be. I don't sell them because I don't own the copyrights. I'm quite certain the people profiting from my work don't own the copyrights either.

-1941 SUGAR BOWL: TENNESSEE vs. BOSTON COLLEGE, Black & white and COLOR FILM WITH RADIO AUDIO ON DVD VERY GOOD!

-1941 ROSE BOWL: NEBRASKA vs STANFORD,  This is BY FAR, the most historical, the most extensive Nebraska football recording project ever undertaken. The audio from the 1941 Rose Bowl combined with the silent film. Approximately 2/3rds of the game film is COLOR. The rest is black & white. The film runs out with approx 2 minutes of game time remaining. No scoring is missed. The game is on 3 discs, with a runtime of about 2 hours and 33 minutes! The powerful Cornhuskers and the tricky "T" formation Stanford Indians. The moment of truth in the 3rd quarter,  after Nebraska stages a magnificent goal line stand,  speedy Stanford halfback  Pete Kmetovic breaks the game open with a 40-yd punt return.  Notables include: Frankie Albert, Vike Francis, Hugh Gallarneau, Forrest Behm, Al Zikmund, "Cowboy" Roy Petsch, and Pete Kmetovic.

January 1, 1973: An upgrade of the 2nd Half of the 1973 ORANGE BOWL: NEBRASKA vs NOTRE DAME  Just completed! This replaces the unwatchable first edition 2nd half film with radio.  A new film discovery, a larger image library and better familiarity with my software warranted this be re-done.  A very clear COLOR film combined with NBC Radio audio. The  completed the 2nd half runs about 1 hour 6 minutes. Includes some special features: Orange Bowl "Flashbacks" involving past Nebraska Orange Bowls and a look at the Nebraska-Notre Dame series history from the 1910's, 1920's and 1940's! UPGRADED 1-17-11...more player photos, graphics and other "special effects".

1973 NEBRASKA vs MISSOURI, Available on DVD from Best of Big Red!

The Cornhuskers compile a huge statistical edge.  A fired up band of Tigers, poor special teams and turnovers prove too much for the #2 rated Cornhuskers to overcome. This game is bit historical, as it was Tom Osborne's 1st loss. Missouri recovers a fumbled punt on the Nebraska 4-yard line and scores it's only touchdown to take a 13-6 lead.  Led by Dave Humm, the Cornhusker storm down the field to pull within 13-12....think the 1984 Orange Bowl was the 1st time Nebraska went for two and the win?  A combination of a fine quality black & white film and color film. KFAB's Lyell Bremser and Jack Payne provide the audio. Run time is just short of 2 hours... about 1 hour 56 minutes. Includes graphics, replays, slow motion and a look at the "Series History" between Nebraska and Missouri. A special audio addition, a Missouri radio clip of the deciding 2-point conversion!

1973 NEBRASKA  vs OKLAHOMA , The 1st Match-up of Tom Osborne & Barry Switzer! A very good quality color film with Lyell Bremser's audio added! Oklahoma shuts out Nebraska for the first time since 1968.  The 1st half film is intact. The 2nd half film is missing the Nebraska offense/Oklahoma defense portion. Still photos, graphics and historical features were used to fill the gap left by the missing film footage. Total runtime, approx 2 hours and 14 minutes on two discs.  This video will fill one of the video gaps in the storied Nebraska vs Oklahoma series!

January 1, 1974 COTTON BOWL: NEBRASKA  vs TEXAS, Tom Osborne's 1st Bowl game and 1st Bowl win! The Cornhuskers dominate the Longhorns 19-3. A decent qualty color film combined with CBS network radio. Total runtime about 2 hours & 10 minutes on two discs. Notables include 'rookie head coach' Tom Osborne, Darrell Royal, Roosevelt Leaks, Glen Gaspard, John Dutton and MVP Tony Davis.

1974 NEBRASKA  vs OKLAHOMA ,  Due to Oklahoma being on probation, the 1974 Nebraska vs Oklahoma game was not televised. The game film is black and white... rather dark.  I was able to pull some good color footage from the 1974 Nebraska Highlight film & 1974 Oklahoma Highlight film. The audio is a combination of Lyell Bremser (KFAB) and Don Gill (KLIN). The "broadcast" includes replays, graphics, player photos and a look back at past Nebraska-Oklahoma games. Total runtime is just over 2 hours (2 hrs, 2 mins) on 2 discs.Even though the "pieces" to this game were not the best, I did this project for historical reasons.  This film/radio project fills one of the last gaps in the classic Nebraska vs Oklahoma series.

1975 NEBRASKA  vs COLORADO  , A stellar COLOR game highlight film combined with the Colorado radio audio. Colorado scores on the 3rd play of the game...then nothing goes right for the Buffs.  Because the game film doesn't contain very play, this is an abbreviated version of this game. Run time is about 55 minutes. Because the COLOR film is very good quality, this game will be a stellar production.

1975 NEBRASKA vs MISSOURI, Available on DVD from Best of Big Red!  COLOR film combined with Lyell Bremser's (KFAB) audio.

John O'Leary scores on the "Bummeroosky" fake punt! This games runs 2 hours 17 minutes on two DVDs. Tom Osborne gets his 1st win vs Missouri in convincing style!

1977 NEBRASKA vs ALABAMA The best possible version of this game! ESPN CLASSIC & ABC's video combined with KFAB's audio.

1978 NEBRASKA vs OKLAHOMA, The best possible version of this game! ABC's video combined with KFAB's audio.

Nobody captures the emotion of Nebraska big win better than "Mr. Football". Lyell Bremser! 2 hrs 28 min. on 2 DVD's.

1979 NEBRASKA vs MISSOURI, Video tape taken from "The Tom Osborne Show" combined with KFAB Lyell Bremser's audio.

A game that comes down to the last play of the game! Picture quality runs a "7+ - 8" Runtime is about 2 hours 30 minutes on 3 DVD's. Notables include: Phil Bradley, James Widler, Derrie Nelson, Jarvis Redwine & I.M. Hipp

Partial Network Telecasts have been discovered for a few rare games 1973 Orange Bowl: Nebraska vs Notre Dame and 1976 Nebraska vs Oklahoma. What about the lost portions?! HuskerJake Productions fill the gap with the 2nd half of the 1973 Orange Bowl and the 1st half of the 1976 Nebraska-Oklahoma game and the missing portion of the 1976 Astro-Blue Bonnet Bowl!
